BORA X Chainlink
BORA, a blockchain-based digital content and gaming ecosystem, is pleased to announce that we will integrate Chainlink as our go-to oracle solution for building out a variety of key features within our blockchain-based NFT gaming platform. By utilizing Chainlink’s industry-leading decentralized oracle network, new and existing Klaytn and Ethereum-based blockchain games will be able to augment the creation, distribution, profit-sharing, and trading of NFTs across our expanding gaming metaverse.
While Chainlink can ultimately provide BORA with any type of external data or computation, our initial plan is to leverage Chainlink’s Verifiable Random Function (VRF) to obtain a tamper-proof and provably fair source of randomness directly on-chain. Metaverse games can then leverage the randomness supplied by Chainlink VRF to create a more exciting and interactive user experience, such as minting special in-game items with random traits when certain objectives are completed, raffling away extremely rare characters as community rewards, or building completely unpredictable gameplay scenarios into the metaverse.
Additionally, we are exploring the use of Chainlink Price Feeds to enable NFTs to be purchased, rented, and sold according to the most up-to-date BORA-denominated exchange rates, widening access and the utility of NFT metaverse assets.
Powering Our Metaverse With Chainlink VRF
BORA is a blockchain-based gaming ecosystem available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. BORA offers a variety of games already live on their platform, including Seven Guardians, Snake Worm, Find Bird, and Push SUSHI, as well as BORA Island(TBD), the decentralized NFT metaverse.
In Bora Island(TBD), virtual land, in-game items, and characters are all tokenized using NFTs. Users have complete control over their in-game items and can leverage this ownership to rent their farms or buildings in the metaverse. For example, by assigning management rights to NFT-based metaverse businesses such as virtual amusement parks and shopping malls, it is possible to distribute in-game business profits according to the ratio of NFT shares a holder possesses. It is also possible to create random perks for interacting with various NFTs, such as issuing random rewards and experiences to fans to incentivize engagement.
Each random in-game interaction requires a source of randomness, which not only needs to be fair to prevent cheating, but auditable so users can confirm the integrity of the game. Chainlink VRF solves this by offering a secure and verifiable random number generator (RNG) solution, where the random number is generated and delivered on-chain to BORA in a manner that users can verify as fair and tamper-proof. This unlocks completely novel possibilities for blockchain-based games and NFTs, such as users having definitive proof that their NFT was assigned truly random traits or that rare NFTs were distributed to gamers in an unbiased manner that not even the game’s developers can tamper with.
